Reviewers treat Neo 2 as the first drone, not a Mini replacement: 4K/60 and tracking in a guarded palm body, still a small sensor. The split is whether you outgrow it in a season. Gadget Scout calls it best first drone; DroneXL parks it as the selfie/social option. It is not in the Mini 5 Pro conversation on image quality.

Do I need to register the Neo 2 in the UK?

Neo 2 is C0, takeoff about 151 g (151 g without the O4 digital transceiver; 160 g with it. Still C0. Guards on.). In the UK a Flyer ID is required from 100 g, and an Operator ID is required from 100 g with a camera or from 250 g — this airframe needs both. Which controller or headset flies the Neo 2?

DJI RC-N3 (Phone clamp, O4); DJI Motion Controller 3 (Motion (FPV), O4); DJI Goggles 3 (Headset, O4+); DJI Goggles N3 (Headset, O4). A matching OcuSync generation is not enough — firmware on a used RC still has to list this airframe. Full matrix on the Gear page.
