Questions
Do I need to register the Neo 2 in the UK?
Neo 2 is C0, takeoff about 151 g (151 g without the O4 digital transceiver; 160 g with it. Still C0. Guards on.). In the UK a Flyer ID is required from 100 g, and an Operator ID is required from 100 g with a camera or from 250 g — this airframe needs both. How far from people can I fly the Neo 2 in the UK?
Neo 2 (C0): A1 Over People. May overfly uninvolved people; not crowds. Flyer ID + Operator ID from 100 g with a camera. Towns OK in A1. Open height is 120 m AGL. Never over crowds. Which is better in wind?
Neo 2 carries more mass into DJI’s published wind figure (Neo 8 m/s, Neo 2 10.7 m/s). On a UK headland that is often the whole decision. Lab Level numbers that match can still feel different because weight is not in the level name.
Which is better at dusk?
Neo and Neo 2 are in the same sensor band on paper. Neo is 1/2-inch CMOS with Downward; Neo 2 is 1/2-inch CMOS with Omnidirectional. Nightscape still needs texture and a minimum lux — it is not night vision.
Which is better for travel?
Neo if the constraint is a bag and UK class (C0, 135 g). Neo 2 if you will accept C0 and 151 g for the bigger airframe.
Can I keep my Neo batteries, controller or ND filters?
You can keep: DJI RC-N3. You cannot take: Neo Intelligent Flight Battery. Current O4 phone clamp. Neo can also fly from the phone with no RC. Does not replace RC-N2 on a Mini 4 Pro.
How much more does it cost?
DJI UK RRP (as of 2026-08-31): Neo £179, Neo 2 £209 — £30 more for the Neo 2. Street, eBay bands and CeX trade-in are on the board; they move.
