EU C-class marks count as UK class until 2028

EU C-class drones may be flown as the matching UK class through Dec. 31, 2027, the Civil Aviation Authority says.

A C0 drone is treated as UK0, C1 as UK1 and C2 as UK2 for that window. New models placed on the UK market from Jan. 1, 2026, must carry a UK class mark from UK0 to UK6. Aircraft bought before that date are unlikely to have a UK mark. They still fly on the C mark or, if unmarked, on the weight table.

From Jan. 1, 2028, a C-class aircraft is treated as a legacy machine. The remote pilot then uses the weight table, the CAA class-marks page said.

UK0 maximum mass is less than 250 grams including payload. UK1 is less than 900 grams. UK2 is less than 4 kilograms. A Plus battery that breaks a Mini’s C0 mass is a class change. See Flying in the UK.
